FULLY FUNDED TO AUSTRALIA; Apply for the Indigenous Peoples Fund Global Conference 2027 Scholarship for Indigenous Leaders in Australia

Indigenous leaders, community members, and changemakers from Africa, Asia and the Pacific, and Latin America are invited to apply for scholarships to attend the IFIP Global Conference 2027 in Darwin, Australia. The scholarship aims to support Indigenous participants in sharing their knowledge, experiences, perspectives, and solutions while connecting with Indigenous leaders and communities from around the world.

The conference will take place from April 28 to 30, 2027, providing a platform for Indigenous participants to exchange ideas, strengthen leadership, build networks, and advance Indigenous-led solutions to community and global challenges.

Applicants must identify as Indigenous and be actively involved in their communities, organizations, or Indigenous-led initiatives. Individuals working on issues related to Indigenous leadership, community development, philanthropy, funding, Indigenous rights, climate change, biodiversity, Indigenous knowledge, Indigenous territories, gender equality, disability inclusion, and youth leadership are particularly encouraged to apply.

Priority will be given to Indigenous youth and Indigenous persons with disabilities. Successful applicants should demonstrate a commitment to contributing to their communities and advancing solutions led by Indigenous peoples. They must also be available to participate throughout the conference, hold a valid passport, be able to travel internationally, and meet Australia’s visa and entry requirements.

Benefits include conference registration, hotel accommodation for the conference period from April 27 to 30, 2027, and round-trip economy airfare from the participant’s nearest international airport to Darwin, Australia. The scholarship also covers airport transfers and local transportation in both the participant’s home country and Australia, applicable Australian visa fees, meals provided during the conference, a food allowance for travel days, and travel and health insurance.

Scholarship recipients are expected to attend and actively participate in all three days of the conference, engage with other participants, contribute their perspectives and expertise to discussions, and participate in relevant sessions and networking opportunities. Following the conference, recipients must share the knowledge and connections gained with their communities or organizations and submit a post-conference report outlining their experience, key learnings, connections, and plans for applying or sharing what they learned.

Selected Indigenous youth will also be invited to participate in the Third Global Indigenous Youth Dialogue on April 28, 2027. This dedicated gathering will provide an opportunity for Indigenous young people to connect, exchange priorities, strengthen their leadership, and contribute to shaping solutions for the future.
