About the Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases

The Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases (GACD) facilitates and funds collaborative research on chronic and non-communicable diseases, particularly in low- and middle-income countries and vulnerable communities in high-income countries.

Through its programmes, GACD seeks to strengthen the evidence available to policymakers as they develop and implement strategies to improve population health.

A distinctive feature of the Alliance is its global approach, which brings together researchers from high-income and low-income countries to collaborate on research addressing major non-communicable disease challenges.
