FULLY FUNDED: Apply for this AIS Youth Conference – Bali 2023
Eligible nationals of AIS Forum participating countries are invited to apply for the AIS Youth Conference that will be held in Bali, Indonesia from 6-8 October 2023.
Encouraging the active participation of young people is crucial for achieving tangible results in ocean advocacy and actions. It is especially important for youth in archipelagic and island states to take on significant roles in fostering economic and social development in their regions. Recognizing the ocean's potential as a source of economic growth and livelihood, they can contribute to their communities and embrace the ocean's cultural heritage while embracing modern practices. These youths are shaping the future of ocean development through their collective efforts, working towards a sustainable and prosperous future. The AIS Youth Conference aims to mobilize young individuals in archipelagic and island states who are passionate about marine plastic debris, maritime governance, the blue economy, and climate change. It seeks to explore innovative solutions, climate adaptation initiatives led by youth, and community empowerment in island environments. This conference reflects the AIS Forum's commitment to engaging with youth in AIS countries, fostering intergenerational equity, dialogue, and solidarity.
