The Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens is excited to announce the opening of applications for the 7th round of the Global Citizen Scholarship Program, aimed at empowering young African change-makers committed to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This fully virtual scholarship program offers selected candidates the opportunity to implement localized SDG Micro-Projects in their communities, participate in a summer school, receive peer-to-peer mentoring, and attend expert trainings and workshops. The program targets 17 young African change-makers aged 20 to 35 from Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, Ethiopia, and Kenya, with a start date in April 2024.
Over the course of 8-9 months, scholars will enhance their understanding of Agenda 2030 and entrepreneurship for sustainable development, expand their professional networks, and receive seed funding of $500 to support their SDG Micro-Projects. Upon successful completion, scholars will receive a Certificate of Achievement signed by Co-chairs Ban Ki-moon and Dr. Heinz Fischer.
If you meet the eligibility criteria, apply by February 25, 2024, providing personal and professional details along with information about your proposed SDG Micro-Project.
