The youth organizers of the ECOSOC Youth Forum are excited to announce the launch of the application form for young people interested in applying as speakers for various sessions of the Forum. Funding opportunities are available for a limited number of participants, and efforts are underway to increase the number of available spots.

Young individuals who wish to apply for speaking roles or funded spots can do so through the provided application form. The same form can also be used for self-funded speaker applications, where individuals cover their own participation costs. Applicants can indicate their preferences, including which session(s) they would like to be considered for a speaking role and learn more about the selection process.

The ECOSOC Youth Forum, the annual youth forum of the United Nations Economic and Social Council, serves as a platform for bringing together young people worldwide to discuss the 2030 Agenda. It plays a crucial role in facilitating policy discussions and contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by young people, government representatives, and other stakeholders in the youth sector. Aligned with the 2030 Agenda, particularly the UN High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, the forum fosters engagement in key UN processes and events.

The 2024 ECOSOC Youth Forum will take place from April 16th to 18th at the UN Headquarters in New York, with a Youth Blast comprising capacity-building and training activities scheduled for April 15th. The theme of the 2024 forum will mirror that of the 2024 High-level Political Forum, focusing on reinforcing the 2030 Agenda and eradicating poverty amid multiple crises. As preparations for the 2024 Summit of the Future progress, young people will have the opportunity to present their views, ideas, and vision to Member States. The three-day event, held in a hybrid format allowing for both in-person and virtual participation, will include opening and closing plenary sessions, high-level and keynote speakers, and youth speakers sharing personal stories and innovative solutions related to the SDGs.
