The Wildlife Acoustics is pleased to provide a funding programme to further the fields of environmental conservation, habitat monitoring, and wildlife research.

Scientists can enhance their study of bats, birds, amphibians, and other vocal species by using the bioacoustics research instruments that the species Acoustics quarterly grant programme offers.

For their prestigious applicants, Wildlife Acoustics has created a grant option called "Kaleidoscope Pro-only." They have expedited these applications to get you back in the field (or lab!) sooner because they appreciate your dedication to having a good impact and recognise how important time is.

Requirements

If you receive a grant, you’ll be expected to:

Provide written acceptance of the grant and agree to the applicable terms and conditions.
Maintain contact with Wildlife Acoustics to provide:
- Quarterly project updates for the duration of your project (Standard Product Grant); or
- One annual project update per Kaleidoscope Pro license awarded for the duration of the project (Kaleidoscope Pro-Only Grant).
Acknowledge the support of Wildlife Acoustics, Inc., in any presentations, meetings, publications, and/or materials mentioning or resulting from the project, whenever possible.
Submit a final report within two months of project completion (or within two months of the bioacoustics section/phase if part of a larger biodiversity project)

Program Benefits

Standard Product Grant Every quarter, a group of grant winners globally may be chosen, and Wildlife Acoustics may provide up to $12,000 worth of suitable products. A maximum of $4,000 in product and software licences may be requested by an individual application each quarter.

- Kaleidoscope Pro-Only Grant Every quarter, a limited number of Kaleidoscope Pro licences may be given away by Wildlife Acoustics to carefully chosen grant winners across the globe. A single applicant may submit an infinite number of requests for software licences.

Eligibility Criteria

Wildlife Acoustics is offering grants to projects that use wildlife vocalization recordings for data collection and analysis. The grants are for projects that advance scientific knowledge and contribute to long-term conservation. The project must begin within one year of the award and US or non-US government agencies are not eligible. Applications can be made quarterly, and if unsuccessful, re-applied. Kaleidoscope Pro subscriptions are eligible, and the online application allows for tax-exempt status certification.

Application Procedure

All sections of the application must be completed in English.

You must include one letter of recommendation (written in English); however, you may submit up to two letters of recommendation and/or letters of reference that you feel would be helpful. (Note: a letter of recommendation/reference is not required for Kaleidoscope Pro-only grant applications.)

You will be asked to include a copy of your organization's certificate/tax exemption letter showing tax-exempt and charitable or educational status. For countries without these, you will be responsible for covering any applicable taxes.

If you are unable to complete the application all at once, you can save your work and come back later to finish and submit your application.

If you have previously applied for a grant and were not awarded, you are welcome to apply again.

Only applications that are fully completed will be evaluated. This includes all required fields in the form, in addition to at least one letter of recommendation.
