Applications are open for the Climate Ambition Accelerator
The Climate Ambition Accelerator is a six-month program designed to help companies in Canada acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to set and achieve science-based emissions reduction targets. This program, aligned with the 1.5℃ pathway, assists companies in making tangible progress toward a net-zero future by 2050.
Through the United Nations Global Compact Network Canada, participating companies will have access to global best practices, peer-to-peer learning opportunities, practical activities, capacity-building sessions, and on-demand training. Managed by the United Nations Global Compact, the Climate Ambition Accelerator aims to support businesses of all sizes and sectors in advancing credible climate action.
Regardless of where a company stands in its sustainability journey, the Climate Ambition Accelerator provides the tools and knowledge needed to lead the transition toward a net-zero economy.

A thorough examination of emissions accounting methods and best practices for creating a comprehensive greenhouse gas emissions inventory. - Setting Science-Based Targets
Engagement with the Science Based Targets initiative, learning key methodologies, and identifying the internal resources necessary for success. - Emissions Management
The development of effective emissions reduction strategies tailored to business objectives and sustainability goals. - Wrap-Up and Future Planning
Participants will consolidate their insights, share lessons learned, and determine next steps for ongoing climate action within their organizations.
The Impact of the Climate Ambition Accelerator
- In 2024, 1,120 companies across 46 networks and 85 countries completed the Climate Ambition Accelerator.
- Over 200 science-based targets were set by the participating companies.
