Applications are open for the Youth Consultations on Gender Equality 2026

Applications are open for Young leaders across the globe to take part in a series of regional consultations focused on advancing gender equality in policy and practice. The initiative is organized by SDSN Youth in collaboration with Ford Foundation as part of the global project A Youth Vision for the World’s Future.

The consultations aim to gather youth-driven perspectives on how gender justice can be strengthened today and sustained into the future. Contributions from participants will inform high-level policy conversations connected to the global sustainable development agenda.

About the Initiative

A Youth Vision for the World’s Future is a global partnership designed to elevate young people’s voices on key sustainability priorities. Through twelve regional dialogues, the project seeks to understand what progress has been made, where gaps remain, and what young people envision for the years ahead of the 2030 Agenda.

Gender equality is one of the central themes of this effort. Other thematic consultations will explore climate change and the future of work in subsequent months.

Following the consultation process, a synthesis brief will be published outlining youth perspectives, concerns, and actionable recommendations. These insights will be shared with senior representatives of UN Member States, civil society organizations, and academic institutions at major international forums.

Consultation Timeline

  • Gender Equality Consultations: March 2026

  • Climate Change Consultations: April 2026

  • Future of Work Consultations: May 2026
