Applications are now open for the WFF Startup Innovation Awards 2026, a global competition that recognizes and supports youth-led startups using technology to transform agrifood systems, tackle global hunger, and advance the World Food Forum mission of achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The awards are powered by MassChallenge Switzerland, offering selected startups the opportunity to join the prestigious MassChallenge Switzerland Accelerator in Lausanne, where they gain access to world-class mentorship, international networks, and growth opportunities.

Youth-led startups from around the world that are developing innovative solutions to improve agrifood systems are encouraged to apply. The 2026 awards focus on four key innovation categories aimed at creating sustainable, scalable, and inclusive food systems.

The award categories include:

• Food Processing Innovation – Startups developing cutting-edge technologies that improve the sustainability, efficiency, and resilience of food processing, including smart equipment, data-driven systems, and advanced packaging solutions.

• Nutrition and Food Security Solutions – Innovations that address malnutrition and food insecurity by improving access to nutritious foods, strengthening local agrifood systems, and promoting nutrition education.

• Women’s Empowerment in Agrifood Systems – Startups creating inclusive solutions that enhance women’s participation and leadership in agriculture and food systems through improved access to finance, markets, skills, and digital tools.

• (Additional category depending on call) – Innovative solutions transforming agrifood value chains through sustainable and scalable technologies.

Selected startups will gain global exposure, mentorship opportunities, and access to the MassChallenge Switzerland Accelerator, helping them scale their impact and contribute to a more sustainable global food system.
