Apply for the Ban Ki-moon Global Citizen Scholarship Program 2026 (9th Cohort)

Applications are open for the Global Citizen Scholarship Program 2026  ninth cohort, inviting emerging leaders committed to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Spearheaded by the Ban Ki-moon Foundation, the program is designed to strengthen youth-led action by supporting localized changemaker projects aligned with the UN Agenda 2030 framework.

About the Program

The scholarship selects 16 young changemakers aged 20–35 from eligible countries across Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, and Southeast Asia. These selected scholars will be joined by one student from Management Center Innsbruck, forming a cohort of 17 participants.

Throughout the program, scholars design and implement a community-based project addressing one or more SDGs. Participants receive structured mentorship, peer-to-peer learning opportunities, expert-led workshops, and entrepreneurship training focused on sustainable development. A two-week summer school hosted by MCI University is fully covered, alongside participation in additional training sessions.

Eligibility Criteria
- Be aged between 20–35 at the time of application

- Hold at least a Master’s degree (or have completed the first year of a Master’s program in exceptional cases)

- Demonstrate strong commitment to the SDGs and global citizenship values

- Possess English proficiency at a minimum B2 level

Applicants must hold citizenship from one of the following countries:
Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Cameroon, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Laos, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Sierra Leone, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, UAE, Uganda, Vietnam, Zimbabwe.
