Apply for the Good Practices for Innovative Approaches for Implementing Equitable and Inclusive TVET in Africa Competition (a trip to Africa Skills Week in Accra, Ghana, in 2024, all expenses paid)
Is your group exceptional at making sure that every young person in Africa has equitable access to technical and vocational education and training (TVET) opportunities? Do you run any programs aimed primarily at women and girls, immigrants, people from lower-income families, or people with disabilities? If so, the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) and the African Union Commission cordially invite you to participate in this stimulating competition, which aims to identify, recognise, and expand the quantity of excellent practices in guaranteeing fair and inclusive access to TVET throughout all African nations.
Competition Details
In an effort to strengthen the perspectives and experiences of TVET practitioners and other stakeholders around Africa who are promoting fairness and inclusion, this call for good practice submissions aims to do just that.
The final goal of the appeal is to create a Toolbox containing a "Rich collection of Equitable and Inclusive TVET resources" with compiled best practices. The treasure trove will develop into a more comprehensive resource for advancing inclusion in TVET across various AU Member States and contexts by capturing a diverse range of creative and effective methods. This will support the efforts of these Member States to implement inclusive policies and strategies in their respective countries and provide opportunities to socially discriminated groups. The ongoing assessment of the Continental TVET Strategy, which outlines the evolving trends, will benefit further from this process.
The African Skill Portal for Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship, or ASPYEE, is a continental knowledge platform that will hold the digital resource known as The Collection.
This is consistent with the official theme of the African Union for 2024, "Building resilient education systems for increased access to inclusive, lifelong, quality, and relevant learning in Africa: Educating an African fit for the 21st century."
Additional Information
The top three organisations (scores) will each get a two-person, fully-funded trip to Africa Skills Week 2024 in Accra, Ghana, from October 14-18. The trip will include all transportation, lodging, and food.
Organisations that work with young people to develop their skills and find jobs—such as government agencies, public and private colleges, non-profits, training providers, and businesses in the private sector—should model best practices.
Organisations may still enter the competition if they have good practices listed on the ASPYEE website. To enter the tournament, though, you have to fill out an online application. The company might take advantage of the chance to incorporate current information into current best practices.
All applicants must use the offered good practice template to submit their applications.
