Applications are now being accepted for the 2025 edition of the WIA Young Leaders Program, an initiative dedicated to elevating young female leaders across Africa. This prestigious program aims to identify, support, and showcase women from the continent who are poised to be key players in shaping Africa’s future. Now in its fourth cycle, the initiative is organized by Women In Africa Philanthropy and made possible through the backing of renowned global partners such as Dior, Lazard, and KPMG.

The program is open to African women between the ages of 25 and 40, with exceptions considered for those with exceptional professional backgrounds. Eligibility is based on either being born in an African nation or having parents who were. Ideal candidates are multilingual and fluent in English, French, or Portuguese, and they are expected to demonstrate strong leadership qualities, emotional intelligence, determination, and a genuine dedication to the continent’s progress. Preference is given to women who are self-made, capable of taking on strategic roles, and committed to long-term impact.

Participants benefit from direct access to high-ranking individuals including industry executives, policymakers, media professionals, and prominent business owners. In addition, they undergo an intensive development experience tailored to their personal growth and leadership journey. This includes one-on-one coaching, specialized workshops, and skills development in communication, governance, and professional leadership. Each participant is also matched with a mentor who provides guidance and support throughout the program.

The selection process spans from June to July 2025, during which candidates are assessed based on academic credentials, professional achievements, leadership potential, and social impact. Those who stand out proceed to a final round of interviews conducted by a distinguished international jury. The successful applicants will be publicly revealed in September 2025 through digital platforms and media coverage, celebrating their accomplishments and potential.

Toward the end of the year, specifically between November and December, the chosen women will embark on an immersive learning journey to Paris. This trip offers them the chance to expand their networks, participate in high-level meetings, and gain insights from leading global figures across sectors. The experience is crafted to refine their vision, enhance their influence, and equip them with tools for meaningful transformation in their home communities and beyond.
