Applications are open for Young people involved in climate advocacy  to contribute directly to discussions shaping Europe's position ahead of the 31st United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP31).

Applications are open for the Youth Policy Dialogue on COP31, an initiative that will bring youth representatives together with European policymakers in Brussels, Belgium.

The dialogue is jointly organized by the European Commission and the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), in collaboration with the European Youth Forum and Generation Climate Europe. It is designed to ensure that young people's priorities and perspectives are reflected in the European Union's climate agenda before global negotiations begin at COP31 in Antalya, Türkiye.

About the Programme

The Youth Policy Dialogue will take place on 1 October 2026 at the European Commission's Berlaymont headquarters in Brussels. Participants will engage in discussions with European Commissioner for Climate, Net-Zero and Clean Growth, Wopke Hoekstra, alongside representatives from European institutions and youth organizations.

The event will provide a platform for young leaders to exchange ideas on major climate policy issues, including climate mitigation, adaptation, climate finance, the energy transition, and implementation of the Paris Agreement.

Selected applicants will also participate in a preparatory meeting scheduled for 8 or 9 July 2026 (final date to be confirmed) ahead of the main dialogue.

Application Deadline

Interested youth organization representatives must submit their applications no later than 30 June 2026.

Eligibility Criteria
Applications are invited from individuals representing youth organizations at the local, regional, or national level across Europe.

- A commitment to representing youth perspectives in public policy discussions.

- Availability to attend both the preparatory meeting and the policy dialogue in Brussels.
