Apply to Become a Member of the Youth Advisory Board at Save the Children
As a youth advisor, you'll use your voice to influence and collaborate with Save the Children, ensuring that the organization’s actions and statements truly reflect the concerns of young people.
What to Expect:
You'll have various opportunities to share your ideas and contribute to shaping projects across Save the Children’s work in the UK. You'll also have the option to participate in unique experiences, such as attending meetings with politicians, giving speeches at events, engaging with the media, and featuring in Save the Children campaign videos.
What We Ask of You:
- A two-year commitment.
- Attend a virtual meeting on the first Wednesday of every month from 5 pm to 7 pm.
- Participate in three in-person meetings a year: two one-day meetings in Autumn and Spring at a Save the Children office, and a two-night residential in Summer.
- We will cover the costs for these meetings and discuss any additional support you might need.
No specific skills or experiences are required—just passion, ideas, and a willingness to learn and collaborate.
Please Note:
You are not eligible to apply if:
- You are already on a youth board for a large national charity.
- You are related to a current member of the Youth Advisory Board.
- A parent or close family member works for Save the Children or is on the Board of Trustees.
Safeguarding at Save the Children:
Everyone at Save the Children is expected to uphold the highest standards of behavior towards children and adults, both professionally and personally. Concerns should be reported immediately. More information on safeguarding and how to report concerns can be found here.
