The Children and Youth Major Group to UNEP (CYMG) is a globally acknowledged platform representing youth networks, organizations, and individuals committed to tackling the threefold planetary crisis of climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution.

As the official youth engagement mechanism for the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), CYMG is instrumental in promoting the inclusion, empowerment, and active participation of young people in global environmental governance and the environmental aspects of the sustainable development agenda.

We are inviting applications for positions on the Steering Committee. This committee acts as the coordinating body, providing strategic direction and oversight for the programmatic, policy, and substantive activities of the CYMG. We encourage youth movements, organizations, and advocates passionate about environmental governance and conservation to apply and join our team!

As a focal point, your responsibilities will include coordinating with relevant UNEP offices and units, facilitating youth engagement with the UN system at a regional or thematic level, working with youth and youth organizations in your assigned area, and supporting the Youth Environment Assembly, as well as Regional Consultation Meetings (RCMs) and thematic discussions leading up to UNEA.

We are looking for dedicated youth advocates to fill the following roles:
