Civil society organizations led by young people or working closely with youth in the Great Lakes Region are being invited to take part in the upcoming Youth in Action Peace Award 2025. This initiative covers Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda, and aims to shine a light on outstanding contributions to peace and security made by youth-driven organizations.

The Youth in Action Peace Award is part of the broader Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) Flagship program and seeks to celebrate organizations that have consistently shown dedication to advancing peace. Eligible groups must have been actively engaged in projects or initiatives connected to YPS within the past five years. This recognition provides an opportunity for such organizations to have their commitment and achievements highlighted at a regional level.

Applications will remain open until September 15, 2025, and the award presentation is scheduled for December 9, 2025. The selected winners, along with the runners-up, will receive significant visibility through online platforms and promotional channels. In addition to recognition, the award will also provide access to financial support aimed at helping organizations expand their initiatives and amplify their positive impact across the region.
