Could AI be central to addressing our global challenges?
As part of the AI Action Summit, scheduled for February 10-11, 2025, in Paris, the Paris Peace Forum is launching a bold Call for Projects centered on artificial intelligence.

The AI revolution is significantly transforming our lives, work, and societies, often creating new and unprecedented divisions. To ensure these technologies benefit everyone, our Call for AI Projects seeks to support global initiatives that enhance citizens' lives and establish ethical frameworks for AI.

This Call is a continuation of the Paris Peace Forum’s ongoing efforts in promoting innovative global governance solutions, with over 500 projects selected and presented since 2018.

What types of projects are we seeking?

We invite applications that align with the following five themes:

Trust in Democracy, Information, Security, and Safety
- Addressing misinformation
- Enhancing public access to information
- Promoting digital inclusion and accessibility
- Ensuring safety, transparency, and accountability

AI and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
- Fostering environmental sustainability
- AI for climate action
- Advancing agriculture and food systems
- Improving nutrition
- Promoting global health and scientific cooperation
- Enhancing education
- Advancing gender equality

Work and Well-being
- Advocating for inclusive and equitable AI
- Distributing productivity gains broadly
- Protecting AI workers' rights

Governance, Ethics, Responsibility, and Crisis Response
- Strengthening global AI governance
- Promoting ethical AI, algorithm oversight, and transparency
- Utilizing AI for early warning systems and disaster management
- Supporting humanitarian action
- Managing crises and preventing conflicts

Culture
- Expanding access to creative tools
- Safeguarding copyright

Program Benefits

Selected projects will be showcased at the AI Action Summit, offering an international stage to share inclusive solutions, with a special emphasis on involving civil society and the global South.

Eligibility Criteria

Applications must be in line with the main themes of the Summit and must be submitted by organisations rather than by individuals. Projects have to show some degree of development, be in the pilot stage at the very least, not merely the design or start-up stage, and have a clear, concrete answer.

This Call for AI Projects is a part of a larger program where contributions and successes from academia, the corporate sector, the public, and civil society will be presented at the Summit. Research and academic work without tangible implementation will not be deemed eligible.
