The World Ocean Council has opened a call for speakers for the Sustainable Ocean Summit and Global Blue Finance Summit 2026, two flagship gatherings scheduled to take place as part of the Tomorrow.Blue Economy programme in Barcelona, Spain.

Event Overview

The summits will be held from 3–5 November 2026 and are organised in partnership with Port de Barcelona, Barcelona Activa, OCEANOVATION, and Fira Barcelona.

The programme aims to convene global leaders, innovators, policymakers, investors, and industry experts working across the ocean economy and marine innovation sectors.

Speaker Themes

Professionals and practitioners are encouraged to submit speaking proposals that explore emerging ideas, solutions, and innovations related to:

• Ocean and Blue Economy innovation
• Blue finance mechanisms and investment opportunities
• Ocean-based climate solutions and marine carbon removal strategies
• Ocean data systems and digital transformation
• Maritime decarbonisation and sustainable port operations
• Circular ocean economy models and marine pollution solutions
• Sustainable aquaculture and blue food systems

Global Platform for Ocean Leadership

The summits will run alongside the Smart City Expo World Congress, offering participants an opportunity to engage with more than 35,000 international leaders in urban development, infrastructure, technology, and sustainability.

Experts contributing to the advancement of the ocean economy are invited to share their knowledge, research, and practical experience with a global audience.
