Check out the 2024 EGIS Impact Hub Team up for Climate Challenge

Adapting and coexisting in the face of climate hazards is a topic for which EGIS Impact Hub is calling you to form a team or join one already in existence.

Anticipating dangers and increasing awareness are two aspects of climate adaptation techniques. Using conventional knowledge and abilities or innovative communication techniques, the first stage is to educate and increase awareness among communities. Examples include using music to spread awareness and digital knowledge-sharing platforms to promote traditional knowledge.

Communities could increase their readiness by foreseeing threats and assisting in the aftermath of disasters in order to lessen vulnerability. Action plans, alert systems, or the replacement of behaviours vulnerable to climate change can all help achieve this. Creating alternate sources of income or promoting daily activities in the wake of disasters are two ways to increase resilience.

Examples include resource-sharing platforms in Brazil during the crisis, forest fire warning systems in Portugal, and agricultural practice replacement initiatives in Kenya.

Take on the challenge to interact with international students, acquire experience in entrepreneurship, take part in makesense workshops, get mentored by Egis professionals, and connect with alumni of Team Up for Climate to find employment prospects.

Don't miss out on the application deadline which is 25 March 2024.
