COP 29 Edition: Join the Youth Climate Action Lab
The Youth Climate Action Lab: COP 29 Edition, organized by the Youth Empowerment in Climate Action Platform (YECAP) in partnership with UNICEF, the Movers Programme, and Skill Our Future, aims to empower young climate leaders from the Asia-Pacific region with the tools and resources necessary to participate effectively in multilateral climate processes at COP29.
The initiative focuses on achieving the following objectives:
- Facilitate connections among youth climate leaders in the Asia-Pacific region.
- Enhance young people’s understanding of the UNFCCC negotiation process.
- Explore ways for youth to engage in COP processes and negotiations.
- Encourage meaningful dialogue with climate advocates and aspiring leaders.
- Strengthen APAC youth’s negotiation and leadership skills to enable them to participate in strategic decision-making.
From October to November 2024, selected participants will engage in a series of capacity-building sessions focused on key UNFCCC negotiation topics, including climate finance, just transition, adaptation, resilience, and climate justice.
Following COP29, YECAP will also organize a post-event session to exchange experiences, discuss how participants can share their knowledge with their communities, and maintain their involvement with YECAP.
