The Swedish Institute has opened applications for the SI Scholarship for Global Professionals 2026, a highly competitive fully funded opportunity for international students to pursue a master’s degree in Sweden. The scholarship targets experienced professionals who want to strengthen their leadership skills and contribute to sustainable development in their home countries.

This program supports full-time master’s studies at Swedish universities across diverse disciplines such as governance, public health, entrepreneurship, innovation, and STEM fields. Key Application Dates

16 October 2025 – 15 January 2026: Apply for Swedish master’s programmes
9–25 February 2026: Submit SI Scholarship application
26 March 2026: University admission results
23 April 2026: Scholarship results announced

Program Benefits

Selected candidates will receive a comprehensive funding package that includes:

- Full tuition fee coverage paid directly to the university

- Monthly living allowance of SEK 12,000

- One-time travel grant of up to SEK 15,000

- Membership in the SI Network for Global Professionals (NFGP)

- Access to the Sweden Alumni Network after graduation

Eligibility Criteria

- Be a citizen of one of the 34 eligible countries

- Apply to and be admitted to an eligible Swedish master’s programme

- Be required to pay tuition fees

- Have relevant work experience

- Demonstrate leadership experience from employment or civil society activities

Eligible Countries

Eligible applicants come from countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Eastern Europe, including Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Zambia, South Africa, Bangladesh, Brazil, Colombia, Indonesia, Jordan, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and others
