FULLY FUNDED : Apply for the Africa CDC Y-Health Incubation Program
The Africa Centres for Disease Control (Africa CDC), in collaboration with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH Office to the African Union and YouthHubAfrica, invites applications for Bingwa PLUS, an incubator program aimed at empowering young African health leaders committed to advancing community health.
Bingwa PLUS builds on the African Union Bingwa Initiative, which mobilized Youth Health Advocates (Bingwas) to engage communities and enhance vaccination efforts across Africa during COVID-19. This program focuses on equipping young health champions with the skills to design, fund, and manage impactful health projects.
Participants will gain crucial abilities to address community health challenges, enhance their leadership and innovation skills, and create support frameworks for handling health crises across the continent.
The application will close on 11:59 PM East Africa Time on 17 November 2024. Please note that applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

We seek youth-led, youth-driven, and youth-centered health initiatives that can make a sustainable difference. Applicants must:
- Be citizens of AU member states
- Be aged between 18 and 35
- Show passion and leadership in improving public health within their communities
- Submit a proposal that thoroughly identifies a health challenge and presents a clear, scalable solution
- Be available for a 4-month incubation program
- Applicants from marginalized or underrepresented backgrounds (e.g., gender, rural youth, youth with disabilities) are encouraged to apply. Priority will be given to projects addressing current health crises, like Mpox or Marburg.
