FULLY FUNDED : Apply for the African Feminist Macroeconomy Academy (AFMA) 2026
Applications are now open for the 2026 African Feminist Macroeconomy Academy (AFMA) — a continental learning and organising space bringing together feminist activists, researchers, and advocates working at the intersection of labour justice, economic transformation, and digital rights across Africa.
Convened by FEMNET together with the Nawi Afrifem Collective, the Academy offers an immersive residential experience focused on strengthening feminist analysis and collective action in shaping Africa’s future of work.
About the Academy
The African Feminist Macroeconomy Academy serves as a regional political education platform designed to deepen understanding of macroeconomic systems and their impact on women and gender-diverse communities. Since its launch in 2017, the initiative has supported movement builders and advocates seeking to challenge unequal economic structures while advancing feminist alternatives rooted in African realities.
Through collaborative learning, dialogue, and strategy development, participants engage with ideas that connect economic policy, social justice, and everyday lived experiences.

Feminist Futures of Work: Building Power for Labour Justice in the Digital Age
