This initiative is designed to strengthen business growth, enhance leadership capacity, and build long‑term sustainability through a structured blend of practical learning, personalised mentorship, and collaborative peer networks. AWEC equips women founders with the confidence, strategic skills, and professional connections they need to scale their businesses and expand their impact within local and international markets.

Selected participants in AWEC Cohort 9 will be part of a dynamic and supportive learning environment that blends virtual sessions with optional in‑person engagements. Fellows will receive one‑on‑one mentorship from seasoned global business leaders and engage in applied learning projects that build practical expertise in business strategy, finance, marketing, leadership, and operational management. Beyond technical business skills, the programme fosters the development of soft skills such as confidence, resilience, cross‑cultural communication, and collaborative problem‑solving. Participants also gain access to a powerful pan‑African network of peers and mentors, creating connections that often extend beyond the programme and support long‑term professional growth.
Eligibility Criteria
AWEC Cohort 9 welcomes applications from women entrepreneurs who are citizens of any African country, irrespective of whether they currently reside on the African continent or in the diaspora. Applicants in the diaspora must clearly show that their businesses have a demonstrable and meaningful connection to Africa, such as by serving African markets, sourcing products from the continent, or providing goods and services that directly benefit African communities. The initiative is inclusive and does not discriminate on the basis of age, religion, education level, marital status, disability, or business sector.
