FULLY FUNDED: Apply for the Atlantic Fellows for Health Equity Fellowship Program 2026/2027 for early to mid-career professionals

Applications are currently being accepted for the 2026/2027 Atlantic Fellows for Health Equity Fellowship. This fellowship brings together professionals from a wide range of sectors that shape health outcomes and overall well-being, including fields such as the arts, law, commerce, higher education, clinical practice, public service, media, research, housing, and healthcare systems. The initiative recognizes that achieving fair health outcomes requires collaboration across disciplines and industries.

Participants are chosen based on their proven dedication to advancing health equity and their capacity to grow as influential leaders. The fellowship aims to cultivate a global network of multidisciplinary changemakers who possess the expertise, practical skills, and collaborative connections necessary to reduce health disparities within their institutions and communities.

The opportunity is intended for individuals who aspire to play a significant role in addressing inequities in health, particularly those in the early or middle stages of their careers. Applicants should already be engaged in work connected to health or well-being and currently hold leadership responsibilities or demonstrate strong potential for leadership growth. They should value inclusion, appreciate diverse viewpoints, and be comfortable working collaboratively in team-based environments.

Those selected are expected to fully engage in the fellowship experience. This includes attending in-person gatherings over the course of the year, amounting to approximately four weeks in total. Fellows must also participate in a structured virtual learning programme that features biweekly online sessions, one-on-one coaching, peer support activities, and collaborative group learning, requiring an estimated 12 to 16 hours of commitment each month. Proficiency in English is essential for successful participation. All educational programming costs and travel expenses associated with fellowship activities are fully funded by the programme.

Advancement in the selection process is based on the quality and depth of the applicant’s statement of interest, including demonstrated achievements that reflect a sustained commitment to health equity. Reviewers also consider the strength and feasibility of the proposed project, the impact and clarity of recommendation letters, and confirmation of employer support.

The application process requires submission of personal background information to provide context about the applicant’s professional environment. Candidates must respond to several short-answer prompts addressing their leadership motivations, the populations they serve, the outcomes of their work so far, and a project they intend to develop during the fellowship year. After submitting written responses, applicants receive an invitation to record brief video answers to additional questions, and the application is only considered complete once these recordings are submitted by the stated deadline. Applicants must also upload an employer endorsement form completed by a direct supervisor confirming institutional support for participation. Two professional recommendation letters are required, with at least one written by a current supervisor, and applicants must provide a curriculum vitae or résumé outlining their professional experience.
