The CARE & Climate Entrepreneurship Accelerator is a specialized program supported by the UN Women and the Visa Foundation that aims to create new and improved livelihood opportunities for women across the Asia-Pacific region. The accelerator supports women-led, women-owned, and gender-diverse enterprises operating in the care economy, climate economy, or at the intersection of both sectors. Selected enterprises receive intensive business acceleration, mentorship, networking opportunities, investment readiness support, and potential grant funding. The program is designed to help promising enterprises refine their business models, scale their impact, and strengthen their capacity to create employment and economic opportunities for women.

Program Benefits

Selected enterprises will receive comprehensive acceleration support tailored to their business needs. This includes strategic guidance to strengthen business models, operational support to improve efficiency and scalability, and specialized assistance in developing inclusive and gender-responsive business practices. Participants will also gain access to industry leaders, investors, funders, and strategic partners through extensive networking opportunities. The program further provides financial readiness support, including fundraising preparation, investor engagement, financial modeling, and pitch development.

In addition, select enterprises may receive grant funding. Early-stage enterprises may be eligible for grants of up to US$5,000, while selected growth-stage enterprises may receive grants of up to US$100,000. The accelerator also includes mentorship from experts in climate innovation, care economy solutions, sustainable business development, and gender-lens investing.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, applicants must be for-profit registered enterprises operating in South Asia or Southeast Asia. The enterprise should be women-owned, women-led, or have a gender-diverse founding team. Applicants must have been operational for at least two years and should already have a product or service in the market with demonstrated revenue generation. Both early-stage and growth-stage enterprises are encouraged to apply. Early-stage enterprises should have validated products with initial market traction, while growth-stage enterprises should demonstrate established product-market fit and consistent revenue growth.

Eligible enterprises must operate within one or more thematic areas. Care-focused enterprises may work in childcare services, elderly and disability care, domestic worker services, digital care platforms, or labor-saving technologies that reduce unpaid care work. Climate-focused enterprises may work in renewable energy, climate-smart agriculture, water and sanitation solutions, climate technology, energy efficiency, circular economy initiatives, green mobility, or nature-based climate solutions.
