Applications are now open for the 2026–2027 Academy Fellowships at Chatham House, one of the world’s leading policy institutes based in London. This prestigious programme offers a unique opportunity for emerging leaders to deepen their expertise, conduct independent research, and engage with global policy discussions.
Hosted under the Queen Elizabeth II Academy for Leadership and the Next Generation, the fellowship runs for 10 months, beginning in October 2026, and brings together professionals from diverse sectors including academia, government, civil society, media, and business.
About the Fellowship
Selected fellows will join an international cohort of changemakers and spend the programme:

Designing and delivering an independent research project aligned with global policy priorities

Contributing to ongoing research, publications, and events at Chatham House

Engaging with policymakers, researchers, and global experts

Participating in an intensive Leadership Masterclass Programme to strengthen leadership and communication skills
Fellowship Streams
Four fellowship tracks are available, each with specific eligibility:

New Generation Europe Fellowship – for Russian citizens or dual nationals

Mo Ibrahim Foundation Fellowship – for citizens of African countries

Richard and Susan Hayden Fellowship – open globally

Stavros Niarchos Foundation Fellowship – for Greek citizens
Research Focus Areas
Applicants are expected to propose research aligned with major global themes such as:
