FULLY FUNDED: Apply for the Chevening Health Reform Fellowship 2024 at the University of Oxford

The British Embassy and British Consulates-General in China collaborate closely with prominent Chinese institutions and leading UK universities to support the professional growth of mid-career professionals through specialized research fellowship programs. One such initiative is the Chevening Healthcare, Health Policy, and Health Reform Fellowship, hosted at the University of Oxford and financially supported by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office.

Chevening Health Reform Fellowship Program Structure:

This six-month fellowship aims to provide mid-career professionals with the opportunity to serve as visiting fellows at the University of Oxford, engaging in research on topics related to health and social policy. These topics should align with the UK government's Global Health Framework. Fellows are encouraged to ensure that their research directly benefits from their time at Oxford and contributes significantly to discussions on ongoing health and social policy reform in China.

Fellows are expected to produce a research paper of up to 10,000 words in English. Research topics should align with the Global Health Framework's key objectives or other areas of collaboration between the UK and China in health policy, such as:

- Addressing antimicrobial resistance (AMR) through the 'One Health' approach.
- Enhancing infectious disease surveillance, prevention, and control.
- Accelerating the development of vaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostics for new and emerging diseases.
- Examining the intersection of climate change and health.
- Studying issues related to aging populations and promoting 'healthy aging.'
- Investigating non-communicable diseases.

During their tenure at Oxford, fellows are hosted by the Department for Continuing Education and affiliated with Kellogg College. They receive comprehensive academic and pastoral support from Oxford faculty and enjoy access to open lectures, seminars, and other academic events like other Visiting Fellows.

Benefits of the Chevening Health Reform Fellowship:

- Full coverage of program fees for Oxford Visiting Scholar Status.
- Living expenses support for the fellowship's duration.
- Round-trip economy airfare from China to the UK.
- An allowance package for research-related activities.
- Participation in a cultural events and activities program organized by the FCDO and the Chevening Secretariat.

If any Visiting Fellow wishes to enroll in additional courses, activities, or conferences beyond what is available to Visiting Fellows, they will be responsible for covering any associated fees or costs individually.
