FULLY FUNDED : Apply for the DAAD In-Country Scholarship Programme 2025 for Sub-Saharan African students
Applications are now open for the 2025 DAAD In-Country/In-Region Masters/PhD Scholarship Programme. This initiative seeks to strengthen internationally focused higher education systems in Sub-Saharan Africa to support sustainable development.
Scholarships are available for development-related Master's or PhD studies, targeting individuals who aspire to build a career in teaching or research at higher education institutions in Sub-Saharan Africa.
While primarily aimed at university staff, the programme also recognizes the need for academically trained professionals in the public sector.

Master’s and PhD programmes in selected development-related disciplines.
Duration of Funding
Funding covers the standard duration of the course, typically up to two years for a Master's degree and up to three years for a PhD.

Graduates and postgraduates from Sub-Saharan Africa with a Bachelor's degree (for Master's applicants) or a Master's degree (for PhD applicants) who wish to pursue their studies either in their home country (In-Country scholarships) or in another Sub-Saharan African country (In-Region scholarships) are eligible to apply. Female candidates and those from underprivileged regions or groups are especially encouraged to apply.
