The ECOWAS Young Graduate Immersion Programme is fully funded, ensuring that selected participants can focus on acquiring practical experience and professional skills throughout the programme. Participants will be placed within ECOWAS institutions and agencies where they will work under the guidance of experienced professionals and mentors who will support their career development.

The programme offers extensive exposure to regional governance and development initiatives while allowing participants to strengthen their technical knowledge through hands-on assignments. Successful applicants will gain valuable workplace experience, improve their leadership and problem-solving skills, and develop a better understanding of how regional institutions operate. Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the ECOWAS Young Graduate Immersion Programme 2026, applicants must be nationals of one of the ECOWAS Member States. Candidates should be young graduates between 18 and 32 years of age at the time of application and must possess a recognized university degree or equivalent qualification in a discipline relevant to the programme. Applicants should demonstrate a strong commitment to regional development, integration, and public service while showing enthusiasm for learning in a multicultural and professional environment.

Prospective participants are expected to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling them to collaborate effectively with colleagues from different backgrounds. They should also demonstrate integrity, professionalism, adaptability, and a willingness to contribute to the objectives of ECOWAS. Knowledge of at least one of the official ECOWAS working languages—English, French, or Portuguese—is an added advantage, while proficiency in additional languages will further strengthen an application.

Applicants should be motivated individuals who are eager to gain practical experience, enhance their professional competencies, and contribute meaningfully to regional initiatives that promote peace, economic growth, governance, trade, and sustainable development across West Africa.
Eligible Countries
The programme is open to citizens of ECOWAS Member States, including Benin, Cabo Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and Togo. Applicants must hold the nationality of an eligible country and satisfy all other programme requirements before submitting an application.
