The Future Forged: AI Innovation Fellowship is a 10-month program for AI researchers to explore bold questions in areas that matter: health, biology, data centres and energy, and real-time reinforcement learning systems.
Located at Amii’s headquarters in Edmonton, this fellowship empowers Research Associates to explore evolving topics in machine learning, work alongside subject-matter experts, and contribute fresh perspectives through analytical reports and community outreach.

What the Fellowship Involves
The Future Forged Fellowship empowers participants to carry out concentrated, influential research that connects academic understanding with practical impact.
Throughout the ten-month period, Research Associates will:

Focus on one of four key themes: Health, Biology, Energy & Data Centers, or Real-Time Reinforcement Learning

Formulate ambitious "what if" inquiries to uncover potential for research, industry innovation, and entrepreneurship

Partner with AI specialists and field experts both within Amii and externally

Create a strategic overview paper that outlines current developments and recommends pathways forward

Present their findings publicly and design approachable materials to enhance AI awareness and education

Additional Information
Format:
This is a full-time, on-site opportunity lasting 10 months, held at Amii’s headquarters in Edmonton, Alberta.
Remuneration & Benefits:
Participants will receive a base salary of CAD $93,000, distributed over nine months. An additional CAD $15,000 will be awarded upon successful completion of the program. The package includes a health spending allowance and assistance with relocation expenses.
Key Deliverables:
Participants are expected to produce a comprehensive analysis paper within one of four designated thematic areas, as well as develop educational content to promote AI understanding, including public-facing presentations.

A background working in technology-driven or cross-disciplinary settings
A passion for innovation and pushing boundaries
A desire to share their research with broader, non-academic audiences
