Program Benefits
The KOICA CIAT Scholarship is fully funded and covers major study-related expenses. Successful applicants may receive full tuition coverage, round-trip airfare, settlement allowances, monthly living stipends, accommodation support, medical insurance, and access to academic and cultural activities in South Korea. Participants also benefit from leadership development opportunities, professional networking, and exposure to Korea’s development practices and technologies.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be citizens of KOICA partner countries and are generally expected to be government officials, public-sector employees, researchers, or professionals working in development-related fields. Candidates should possess the academic qualifications required for their chosen Master’s or PhD program and demonstrate strong professional potential. Many programs require official nomination or endorsement from the applicant’s government or employer. Applicants must also meet the language requirements and health conditions specified by the selected university and scholarship program. Uganda is among the eligible partner countries under KOICA-supported programs.
Eligible Countries
The program is open to applicants from KOICA partner countries across Africa, Asia, the Pacific, Latin America, and other developing regions. Eligible countries include Uganda and many other developing nations designated by KOICA.
