The Migration and Technology (MTM) fellowship program seeks to amplify the voices and contributions of people with lived experiences of migration, displacement, and occupation.
The program offers support to individuals developing projects that address the intersection of technology and migration, with a particular focus on ensuring that mobile communities are included in the development, research, and implementation of technology solutions.
This fellowship is designed to help individuals from these communities create impactful projects, with the aim to empower them to lead discussions on technology use and its effects on migration and human rights.
Fellowship Focus Areas:
- Research: Investigating the impact of technology on mobile, migrated, or occupied communities.
- Journalism: Reporting on how technology is used in the field of migration.
- Culture: Using cultural projects to raise awareness of technology’s impact on displaced communities.
- Education: Educating future generations about using and protecting against technology in migration contexts.
- Tech-in-use: Developing systems to use technology in support of mobile communities.
- Tech and Environment: Addressing how global technological development harms the environment, with a focus on the impact on communities.

- Fellowship Duration: April 2025 to May 2026
- Requirements:
- Active participation in monthly 90–120-minute webinars focused on project development, media outreach, ethical research, and more.
- Attendance at at least one public event (conference/workshop) to present your project and network (financial support for this is not provided).
- Become an active alumnus of the program, supporting future fellows and participating in the selection process for the next cohort.

You have a project inspired by your lived experience that seeks to positively impact mobile or migrated communities.
You identify with one of the following groups: women, LGBTQIA+ individuals, or people from mobile or occupied communities outside of Europe and North America. Applicants from these groups will be prioritized.
