Applications are open for the young people interested in climate action, sustainability, and social impact. The “In the MOOD for Climate Action” programme—delivered by the Learning Planet Institute, a hub of the United Nations University—invites participants to move beyond theory and begin creating real-world climate solutions.

About the Programme

This initiative is designed as an interactive journey that helps young people better understand climate challenges while building the confidence and skills needed to take action locally and globally.

Participants engage in a structured experience that combines systems thinking, collaboration, and hands-on project development, all within an international learning community.

What Participants Will Experience

The programme is delivered through three certified modules, each offering a recognized certificate from a United Nations University hub. Participants may complete one or more modules.

Key learning areas include:

•  Understanding climate change and global inequalities

•  Systems thinking and long-term solution design

•  Collaboration, leadership, and teamwork

•  Social entrepreneurship and project development

•  Designing and implementing local climate solutions

Participants will also work on real-world projects, often in international teams, addressing pressing environmental challenges.

Learning Approach

The programme combines three key dimensions:

• Knowledge: Climate science, adaptation strategies, and climate justice

• Self: Emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and resilience

• Action: Fieldwork, idea development, and project implementation

This holistic approach ensures participants not only understand climate issues but are also equipped to act effectively.
