Selected participants will receive mentorship from Canada’s top entrepreneurs and business leaders, access to an influential startup ecosystem, and specialized venture-building education. The program is fully funded, with no program fees or equity requirements. Previously, participants had to give up 2.5% equity in their ventures, but this rule has now been removed. All intellectual property stays with the venture founders. While participants are responsible for living expenses, accommodation, and travel to Toronto, the program itself is fully supported by NEXT Canada and its partners.

The NEXT 36 program is open to Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and those holding a valid Canadian student or work visa. Applicants may be undergraduates or recent graduates who demonstrate strong entrepreneurial spirit. International students currently studying in Canada with the right visa status are also eligible. However, international applicants without Canadian residency or visas are not eligible. Canadian citizens studying abroad are welcome, provided they can return to Canada for the full-time summer portion. There is no minimum GPA requirement, and applicants with early-stage ventures are encouraged to apply. Co-founders are also expected to apply, and there is a second intake to accommodate them if needed.
