Applications are open for the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) Mauritius Fellowship Program (Global) 2026. This prestigious one-year fellowship offers recent law graduates and young legal professionals the opportunity to work at an international arbitration institution and gain hands-on experience in international dispute resolution. Fellows will serve as Assistant Legal Counsel and work closely with the PCA’s International Bureau and Mauritius Office, gaining practical and legal experience in international arbitration while contributing to the work of one of the world’s leading intergovernmental dispute resolution organizations.

Successful fellows will spend one year working at the PCA Mauritius Office and gain comprehensive exposure to the operations of both the PCA’s International Bureau and the Mauritius Office. They will develop practical and legal expertise in international arbitration while holding the title of Assistant Legal Counsel.

The fellowship provides a monthly stipend to support participants throughout the program. In addition, fellows receive valuable professional experience within a respected international organization, opportunities to work alongside leading arbitration professionals, and exposure to international legal practice. For selected candidates who require a visa, the PCA will provide supporting documentation for visa applications.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must possess a law degree that qualifies them for bar admission in their home jurisdiction through examination, traineeship, or another recognized route. The program welcomes candidates whose qualifications exceed this minimum requirement, including holders of advanced law degrees, practicing lawyers, and other legal professionals. Fluency in English is required, while proficiency in French is considered a significant advantage. Additional language skills, particularly Arabic, Chinese, Russian, and Spanish, are highly valued.

Candidates with specialization or demonstrated interest in international dispute resolution, international arbitration, or public international law are especially encouraged to apply. The fellowship seeks individuals with strong academic and professional records who are interested in building a career in international arbitration and dispute settlement.

The fellowship is open to applicants from all countries worldwide. Recent law graduates and young legal professionals from any nationality are encouraged to apply if they meet the eligibility requirements.
