Applications are now open for the 2026 WomenLift Health East Africa Signature Leadership Journey Program. This fully funded, year-long initiative is created to support accomplished mid-to-senior career women working in health across East Africa. The program offers a nurturing environment where participants can explore their authentic leadership through reflection and self-discovery. It fosters a diverse and inclusive network that encourages belonging while providing practical tools and strategies to strengthen voice, presence, and influence. Participants also benefit from guidance and support from a community of peers, mentors, and professional coaches. The program equips women leaders with context-specific approaches to address challenges they face at individual, organizational, and societal levels within the global health landscape.

Participants will take part in two immersive, in-person learning experiences, complemented by online learning sessions, group mentoring, and one-on-one virtual coaching. An important component is the self-directed Health Leadership Project, which allows participants to apply their learning in real-world contexts, all while receiving continuous support from experts and fellow leaders in the health sector.

To be considered, applicants must meet all eligibility criteria. Applicants should identify as women and be employed in roles related to public health policy, practice, or research, serving populations at the national or regional level in East Africa. Relevant work may include delivering public health services, conducting research, developing or implementing policy, supporting health program management, or overseeing teams and projects. Applicants must have between ten and twenty-five years of experience in public health in East Africa, hold citizenship in an East African country, and live and work within the region. Strong written and spoken English communication skills are also required.

Selected participants will incur no costs for the program. All expenses, including travel and accommodation for in-person sessions, are fully covered, ensuring participants can engage fully without financial burden.
