Proposals for the design and implementation of the Madeleine K. Albright Young Women Leaders Programme, which will establish four Institutes for the Study of the U.S., are being invited from U.S. academic and cultural institutions, both private and public, exchange-of-people organisations, and other not-for-profit agencies.

In the summer of 2025, four Institutes will be held over five weeks. Every Institute will concentrate on a subject that represents the top objectives of US foreign policy. Public policy, environmental issues, economic empowerment, and civic engagement have been chosen as the themes for these institutes.

An academic programme called the Albright Young Women Leaders Programme aims to give international female undergraduate students a better grasp of American society, culture, institutions, and values. In addition to lectures and debates in the classroom, the programme also involves group presentations, readings, site visits, educational travel, leadership development, community service projects, and encounters with Americans.

In the summer of 2025, the programme will be delivered in person, with each institution lasting roughly five weeks. There will be a gathering in Washington, DC, including debriefings for participants, networking opportunities, and experts from the industry or region.

Women's participation in the four Institute themes of Civic Engagement, Economic Empowerment, Environmental Issues, and Public Policy will be examined in this programme. Active citizenship, voting rights, social justice, gender equity, civic engagement, political leadership, media literacy, countering misinformation, and volunteerism are among the topics that will be discussed.

The environmental issues will centre on sustainable development, climate change, and public policy, with a particular emphasis on the roles played by women in the public sector, government, business sector, civil society, and media in policymaking.

Students from East Asia and the Pacific, Europe and Eurasia, the Near East and North Africa, South and Central Asia, and Sub-Saharan Africa are expected to participate in the four Institutes, according to ECA. There will be about 20 people per Institute, for a total of 80 participants. The participants will be driven undergraduate students with little to no foreign experience from a variety of backgrounds, with a focus on underrepresented and marginalised groups. There will only be female contestants. The recipient will not take part in choosing the participants. Candidates will be nominated by American embassies and consulates, and ECA will choose the final participants. The grant recipient will get a final list of participants from ECA.
