About the INTERACT-Africa Project
INTERACT-Africa, funded by the European Union (EU), is an academic mobility initiative aimed at promoting green technologies for climate change mitigation and sustainable bioeconomy. The project focuses on Chemistry, Biology, and Information Technology, with a special emphasis on converting organic waste into valuable products to support environmentally sustainable and socially inclusive economies.
Objectives of INTERACT-Africa
1. Promote Inclusive Learning: Enhance capacity building in higher education institutions (HEIs) by focusing on green Chemistry, Biology, and IT to develop a workforce skilled in sustainable practices.
2. Foster Entrepreneurship: Support the establishment of green technology businesses in Africa through mentorship, funding access, and technical support for aspiring entrepreneurs and start-ups in green Chemistry, Biology, and IT.
3.Facilitate Networking and Knowledge Sharing: Promote innovation and sustainable economic growth by providing internships, cooperative education programs, and hands-on learning opportunities.
Scholarship Details
-Total Scholarships:28 postgraduate scholarships (5 for PhDs and 23 for Master's programs).
- Duration:PhD scholarships are up to 36 months, and MSc scholarships are up to 24 months.
- Eligibility: Regional students, especially female, disadvantaged, marginalized groups, and those with special needs, are encouraged to apply.

- MSc in Chemistry, Crop Protection (2 years each)
- Ethiopia: Addis Ababa University
- PhD in Analytical Chemistry (3 years)
- MSc in Analytical Chemistry (2 years)
- **DRC:** Institut Facultaire Des Sciences Agronomiques De Yangambi (IFA-Yangambi)

Beneficiary Categories
1. TG-I: Students from partner universities (Moi University, Mbarara University of Science and Technology, Sokoine University of Agriculture, Addis Ababa University, and IFA-Yangambi).
2. TG-II: Students from other African universities, prioritizing those from conflict-affected and disadvantaged countries.

Additional Information
-MSc Students: monthly stipend of €890, plus expenses for travel, obtaining a visa, and living expenses.
"- Covered expenses include health insurance, research costs, and tuition.
- Hold citizenship in and reside in an eligible nation in Africa.
- Turn in a one-page research topic paper.
- Request an acceptance letter from the institution of host.
- Have not received any prior scholarships under the Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme.
- Agree not to accept another scholarship from the EU during the mobility term.
- Send in two recommendation letters and a letter of motivation.
- Have the willingness to study in one of the qualifying nations other than their own.
- If appropriate, present documentation of specific needs.
- For English-instruction institutions, non-native English speakers must achieve CEFR B2 level or equivalent; for IFA-Yangambi, they must achieve French B2.
