With the help of ARES Scholarships, you can enrol in a 2- to 6-month continuing education course or an advanced bachelor's or master's degree program at a Wallonia-Brussels Federation higher education institution in Belgium.

Are you a citizen of a nation that is an ARES partner? Do you possess a post-secondary degree?

Have you worked in a professional setting and would you like to expand your knowledge in a field relevant to development? If yes, you should apply for the ARES Scholarship.

Courses in the following areas are eligible: aquaculture, health, food technology, economics, international development, GIS, information technology, agriculture, environment, human rights, microfinance, and more. This includes eligible bachelor's, master's, and continuing education programs.

Program Benefits

The ARES Scholarship for Continuing Education and Bachelor's and Master's Degrees pays for tuition, living expenses, monthly expenses, and extraordinary costs related to visa applications.

Eligibility Criteria

possess nationality from, and live and work in one of the 31 qualifying nations (see list below);
Possess the following credentials: a diploma equivalent to a first cycle diploma (180 ECTS credits) from Belgian higher education for specialisation baccalaureates; a diploma equivalent to a second cycle diploma (300 ECTS credits) from a Belgian university for specialised master's and continuing education courses.
Show that you have worked in a relevant professional capacity in an ARES partner nation for at least two years.

Eligible Countries

Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Ecuador, Guinea, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Morocco, Mozambique, Niger, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, and Zimbabwe are all located in Africa.
Bolivia, Cuba, Ecuador, Haiti, Peru are in South America and the Caribbean.
Southeast Asian countries: Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, Nepal, and Cambodia.
Palestine land in Asia.
