Applications are open for the YEFFA Climate Convening, a dynamic regional gathering dedicated to empowering youth in Southern Africa to play a leading role in shaping climate action, sustainable agriculture, and policy influence. This impactful event is organized by Sustain267 with the generous backing of AGRA, and will take place in Gaborone, Botswana from August 21st to 22nd, 2025.

The convening aims to equip financially underrepresented young people—particularly young women—with the knowledge, connections, and confidence to actively engage in climate resilience strategies, influence environmental policy, and drive green job creation within their communities. Participants will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the Botswana Youth Resolutions, a powerful collective document that will inform and influence both national climate policy dialogues and broader regional platforms such as the African Food Systems Forum (AFSF) and COP30.

We are looking to bring together 25 youth representatives from a variety of organizations and backgrounds across Botswana and the wider Southern Africa region. Individuals must be affiliated with a private organization, grassroots movement, or youth-led group—or be actively involved in farming or food production. It is acceptable for applicants to represent more than one collective or initiative.

All selected delegates will have their travel and lodging expenses fully covered by the organizers to ensure inclusive participation. The convening will create an energizing space for peer exchange, deepen cross-border collaboration, and build the momentum needed to attract investment into youth-led climate and agriculture solutions.

Applications will be accepted until June 30th, 2025. Those selected will be notified by July 7th, 2025.
