FULLY FUNDED TO BRUSSELS : Apply for the Young Climate Leaders – Ideas Lab 2026

The Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS), working in partnership with the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung European Union | Global Dialogue, has opened applications for the 2026 edition of its Young Climate Leaders initiative.

This programme invites emerging climate advocates from countries across the Global South to take part in the next Ideas Lab, scheduled for 2–3 March 2026 in Brussels.

Ideas Lab has earned a reputation as one of Brussels’ most dynamic spaces for public policy exchange. Now in its second decade, the event brings together senior EU officials, academics, business leaders, civil society actors and young innovators to explore pressing global challenges. Last year’s gathering welcomed nearly 800 participants and featured more than 200 speakers—including European Commissioners, Members of the European Parliament, ambassadors, and respected researchers.

The Young Climate Leaders programme gives selected participants the chance to experience how EU policymaking works behind the scenes. Those chosen will take part in sessions, meet experts and peers from across Europe, and see firsthand how a major policy forum is organised.

Program Benefits

- Participants selected for the 2026 cohort will have their travel, accommodation, meals and visa-related expenses fully covered. The programme does not include remuneration.

Eligibility Criteria

- Be between 20 and 35 years old

- Hold the nationality of one of the eligible countries listed in the application form

- Have strong English communication skills

- Demonstrate a genuine interest in climate action and climate policy

- Be able to travel to Brussels between 1 and 4 March 2026

- Not have taken part in previous editions of Ideas Lab
