FULLY FUNDED TO FRANCE : Apply for the UNIV’R Master’s Scholarship for Refugees (2026 Intake)
Applications are open for the UNIV’R University Corridor Programme 2026 . Refugees holding a bachelor’s degree and aspiring to continue their education in France can now apply for the programme. The initiative provides a fully funded pathway for eligible candidates to pursue a two-year Master’s degree at participating French higher education institutions.
About the Programme
The UNIV’R project was launched in 2021 through a partnership between UNHCR France and Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie, with support from the MEnS network and several French universities.
Designed as a university corridor initiative, the programme enables refugees residing in their first country of asylum to safely and legally relocate to France to complete a Master’s degree. Since its launch, dozens of students from diverse national backgrounds have been welcomed into French universities, reflecting a growing commitment to expanding higher education access for displaced learners.
UNIV’R is supported by multiple stakeholders, including French ministries, civil society actors, universities, NGOs, and embassies.
Visa and Legal Status
Successful candidates will enter France on a long-stay student visa (VLS-TS). After completing their degree, graduates may apply for a one-year residence permit to seek employment. However, the programme does not guarantee permanent residence. The visa is strictly individual and does not include family reunification rights.
Why This Programme Matters
Globally, access to higher education remains limited for displaced populations. University corridor initiatives like UNIV’R offer safe, complementary pathways beyond resettlement, helping refugees continue their studies while contributing to global solidarity efforts. The programme aligns with broader international goals to increase refugee enrollment in higher education by 2030.
Don't miss out on the application deadline which is 15 March 2026 (23:59 Paris time).
