The program's target audience consists of students from all around the world who aspire to work responsibly in journalism or the communications sector. It is aimed primarily for aspiring journalists as well as communication specialists and media professionals from print, web, and television.

Candidates must have a bachelor's degree or its equivalent and at least a year of professional experience in a media-related sector after graduation in order to be considered.

Participants in the program include representatives from NGOs, ministries, cooperative development groups, regional working groups, national broadcasters, media associations, journalists-in-training, community radio stations, and communication experts.
