FULLY FUNDED TO GERMANY: Apply for the Afrika Kommt! 2026 intake for young African changemakers and leaders

Applications are now open for AFRIKA KOMMT! – 15th Intake (AK!15).

The full set of fellowship profiles for the 2026–2028 cohort is officially online, featuring 35 fellowship opportunities hosted by 7 top German partner companies.

The available roles span a wide range of professional areas including sales and marketing, engineering, finance, information technology, healthcare, and other high-impact fields. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to gain international work experience, contribute to meaningful projects, and strengthen their leadership and professional capabilities in a global environment.

Fellows will be placed within leading German organisations such as B. Braun Group, BioNTech SE, Boehringer Ingelheim, Merck Group, ODDO BHF, Bosch, and SAP. These placements are designed to support long-term career growth through practical exposure, skills development, and hands-on experience in internationally recognised companies.

To be eligible, applicants must be citizens of an African country, hold a university degree in a relevant field, and have between two and five years of professional experience. Strong English proficiency is required, while basic German knowledge is considered an advantage. Applicants must also be 35 years old or younger at the time of application, and a postgraduate qualification such as an MBA is viewed as a plus.

In addition to academic and professional qualifications, candidates are expected to demonstrate strong communication skills, leadership potential, and a high willingness to learn German. They should be self-driven, committed, team-oriented, and capable of working toward goals with consistency. The programme also looks for individuals who are adaptable, resilient, open-minded, culturally aware, and able to adjust quickly to new environments while reflecting thoughtfully on their own behaviour and perspectives.

Interested candidates are encouraged to review the available fellowship profiles and submit their applications within the official application period.
