About the Scholarship

Scholarship Programmes

Scholarship Programme 1

This programme supports applicants who are living in their home countries and includes:

• Invitations for postgraduate studies or research stays in Germany for qualified graduates and experienced professionals.
• In-country scholarships for selected Master's programmes offered in participating institutions within eligible countries.
• Third-country scholarships that allow students to pursue Master's studies in designated institutions outside their home country, particularly where regional study opportunities are available.

Scholarship Programme 2

This programme is intended for students from countries in the Global South who are already enrolled in Master's or PhD programmes at universities in Germany. Eligible candidates are typically nominated through Catholic university chaplaincies.

Eastern Europe Programme

Applicants from eligible Eastern European countries may receive support for Master's studies, doctoral programmes, or short-term academic and research stays in Germany through partnerships with regional committees.

Available Study Options

Applicants may apply for opportunities to:

• Study or conduct research in Germany.
• Pursue a Master's degree in selected universities within their home country through the In-country Programme.
• Study in a designated third country through the Third-country Programme where available.
