Applications are now open for the 2026 International Summer School on Sustainable Energies and Entrepreneurship, hosted by the Technical University of Munich through the TUM SEED Center. The programme provides a valuable learning platform for master’s students and early-career professionals from the Global South who are interested in sustainable energy innovation and entrepreneurship.

The summer school will take place in Munich, Germany, bringing together participants from partner universities to explore solutions for energy sustainability while developing entrepreneurial skills that can help drive development in their home countries.

About the Program

The summer school is organized by the TUM SEED Center, an international centre dedicated to promoting education, research, and collaboration on sustainable energy and development challenges. The initiative receives support from the German Academic Exchange Service and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.

The centre collaborates with several technical universities across the Global South, including institutions in Uganda, Ethiopia, Kenya, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Namibia, Peru, Burkina Faso, and South Africa. Through this partnership network, the programme aims to strengthen expertise in sustainable energy systems and entrepreneurship among emerging leaders.

The 2026 summer school will offer participants the chance to deepen their understanding of renewable energy technologies, sustainable innovation, and entrepreneurial approaches that can support economic and environmental development.

- Be motivated to contribute to sustainable development and interdisciplinary research

Eligible countries for the scholarship include those with universities partnering with the TUM SEED Center. These are Ethiopia through Bahir Dar University, Indonesia through Bandung Institute of Technology, Burkina Faso through Burkina Institute of Technology, Ghana through Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, India through the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Kenya through Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Uganda through Makerere University, Namibia through Namibia University of Science and Technology, Peru through Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, and South Africa through Stellenbosch University.
