FULLY FUNDED TO GERMANY: Apply for this Heidelberg Laureate Forum 2024 now

The Heidelberg Laureate Forum (HLF) serves as a networking conference where 200 meticulously chosen young researchers in mathematics and computer science spend a week engaging with laureates in the fields, including recipients of the Abel Prize, ACM A.M. Turing Award, ACM Prize in Computing, Fields Medal, IMU Abacus Medal, and Nevanlinna Prize. Formed in 2013, the HLF is an annual event organized by the Heidelberg Laureate Forum Foundation (HLFF).

Featuring a mix of scientific and social program components, the HLF platform is explicitly crafted to foster exchange among participants. Laureates deliver lectures on topics of their choosing, primarily directed at the participating young scientists. These lectures serve as the starting point for in-depth discussions between laureates and young researchers during the forum. Consequently, the Forum distinguishes itself not as a conventional scientific conference but as a networking event designed to motivate and inspire the next generation of scientists. Creating a space for ideas to form and develop defines the Forum’s fundamental purpose.

The exchange of ideas and gaining new perspectives on ongoing or future research projects is a crucial aspect of scientific advancement. Given the increasing complexity of many research issues, establishing reliable networks has become vital for scientists across various backgrounds. Therefore, connecting with fellow scientists is pivotal for the future career of a young researcher.

The extensive interaction with laureates in mathematics and computer science is facilitated as their involvement is not limited to giving lectures; instead, it extends across all aspects of the program. Adequate time is allocated for discussions with these scientific pioneers during breaks, meals, and social events.

At the Heidelberg Laureate Forum, the most brilliant minds in mathematics and computer science intertwine, discover inspiration, and drive progress.

Requirements:

• Undergraduate/Pre-Master: If you are enrolled in your studies (i.e., Bachelor’s or Master’s) and do not yet hold a Master’s degree.
• Graduate PhD: If you are currently working towards a PhD.
