The Queen's Commonwealth Essay Competition for 2024 is now accepting applications."One Resilient Common Future: Transforming our Common Wealth" is the subject for the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), which will be held in Samoa in October 2024.

Small Island Developing States (SIDAs), like Samoa, make up over half of the Commonwealth nations and are disproportionately impacted by climate change. In addition, communities around the Commonwealth are dealing with a number of issues, such as peace, security, and economic progress. More than ever, building robust and resilient societies is essential.

In the Queen's Commonwealth Essay Competition 2024, participants are asked to think on how they overcome hardship and how culture and society may support resiliency and hope in a world where there are an increasing number of global issues.

The seniors, who are 14 to 18 years old, are required to share fundamental cultural values, give a speech on the most difficult topic, and take little efforts to address the climate crisis in order to improve community and cooperation within the Commonwealth. In addition, they must send a letter outlining their goals for peace, liberty, and advancement to their president or prime minister.

Under 14, junior participants are asked to take up new habits that will help the Commonwealth become a greener place, have conversations about hope and resilience with their grandparents, help clean up beaches, and form friendships with students participating in school exchanges in other Commonwealth nations while taking cultural differences and similarities into account.
