Empowering Women in Transitional Justice and Reconciliation: A Training Opportunity

Are you a woman leader from the Horn of Africa or Great Lakes region looking to enhance your skills in transitional justice and reconciliation? Do you want to engage with the African Union Transitional Justice Policy and contribute to sustainable peace and social cohesion in your community?

The AUTJP team invites you to apply for our capacity strengthening training, tailored specifically for women like you. The training will take place in Nairobi, Kenya, from October 21-25, 2024, and is organized by the Life & Peace Institute, Center for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation, and Institute for Justice and Reconciliation.

Their focus areas include transitional justice and reconciliation, implementation of the African Union Transitional Justice Policy, and peacebuilding. Their objective is to empower African women to lead transitional justice initiatives in their communities, promoting sustainable peace and social cohesion.

 

All selected candidates will be fully funded to attend with return flight tickets, meals and accommodation provided by the host community

To be eligible, you must:

- Be a woman from Ethiopia, Somalia, Sudan, Kenya, Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi, Rwanda, or Uganda
- Be between 25-39 years old
- Have proficiency in English
- Have experience in peacebuilding, transitional justice, or dialogue initiatives
- Women with disabilities and indigenous women are encouraged to apply
